Iran Balochistan #2 is a purely indica strain, highly adapted to the climatic conditions of the semi-arid region of Balochistan, Iran. It is characterised by its compact and early structure, ideal for cultivation in regions with variable climates and short seasons. The plants have low to medium growth with very short internodal spacing, making it manageable in intensive cultivation. The leaves have wide, thick, serrated leaflets measuring 3, 5, 7, 9 centimetres, with a waxy texture that favours resistance to adverse conditions. All identified phenotypes share this leaf morphology, although they may vary slightly in overall size and branching pattern.
Flowering begins very early, making it an ideal choice for early harvests. Its most outstanding quality is its resistance to humidity and very dry weather. Unlike many other indicas that suffer from fungal infestation in humid environments, this strain has demonstrated exceptional performance in high humidity, remaining healthy and vigorous without showing symptoms of botrytis, powdery mildew, or fusarium.
Iran Balochistan #2 has been successfully tested at different altitudes and in regions with high relative humidity, where other genetics fail or fail to complete the cycle. Its adaptability is remarkable, highlighting high survival rates in subtropical and humid temperate climates. Its high resistance to pests and fungal diseases makes it an invaluable tool for breeding programmes focused on hardiness and genetic stability in extreme environments.
The aroma is earthy and woody at its base, with evident notes of industrial solvent, diesel, and a citrusy hint of lemon, giving it a complex and penetrating aromatic character. The flavour is persistent, earthy and woody, with light lemon notes and a dry aftertaste.
The effect is typically indica, with a deeply narcotic, calming, and relaxing effect. Ideal for users seeking: relief from insomnia, anxiety, or physical stress. A progressive feeling of physical heaviness that ends with restful sleep. Ideal for deep relaxation and tranquil effect.
Perfect for breeding thanks to its extreme resistance to humidity, early flowering, and compact structure, Iran Balochistan #2 is presented as an exceptional parent for improving sensitive cultivars in dry and tropical areas, stabilising hybrids with high indica content, and providing hardiness and vigour in breeding projects seeking to shorten flowering times without compromising quality or resistance.
*** COMMENT FROM A GROWER ***
Okay, I just finished smoking and resmoking all plants, and they are really good. Though they take a “long” time flowering, the smoke is overall very “indica” type in effect. Very heavy body stone and blissfully stupefying. Medium to strong in potency. One plant turned red, one purple, one stayed green. The red is the most stoney in effect, the green has a little more of a head high, but not much, the purple is somewhere in between. High doses creates a numbed body and room spinning effect. The effect is very narcotic and sedative. Almost opiate like. Great for after work, or to use as a nighttime medicine. The overall impression is: I love these! There is a lot of potential here for those wanting old-school “indica” type terps and effects. Two thumbs up 👍👍
